Artists from 10 booths will sell and exhibit their works at the second annual Ocean View Fine Arts Fair in front of the Damon Pla Fine Arts Studio & Gallery on Saturday, July 23.

The show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 101 Atlantic Avenue, with the rain date being Sunday, July 24. Prices will range from $20 to thousands of dollars for larger selections.

There are no admission fees.

Works will include handmade jewelry, glass art, oil and acrylic paintings, watercolors, pottery, multimedia works, photographs, wooden pieces and those made with wine and beer – a technique that involves the artist pouring wine, beer, coffee or another beverage onto the canvas.

“The stands will be filled with works of art. It’s a chance to come see this work collected in one area so you don’t have to shop around. I enjoy looking at the diversity of work – glass, pottery, wood, paintings, photographs. I love diversity,” said Pla, an acrylic artist who creates iconic landscapes and surreal compositions.

Pla said a few of his artist friends also asked him to host a show in September.

“It’s a good exposure for them. I’m happy to provide at least one show. It’s a chance a year to drop by the gallery and see the works of all my closest friends,” he said.

Thoughtful observation of art adds quality to life, Pla added.

“In these times we live in, art, for me, is a good basis for peace, for self-exploration. There is no such thing. Art is a foundation for introspection,” he said.

Recently, photographs from the James Webb Space Telescope allowed earthlings to see images at greater distances than they had ever seen before, Pla noted, adding, “We can see farther, but let’s look- us inside? And yet, we are here for that very reason, for introspection.
