The Grande Prairie Art Gallery is hosting its 41st annual auction, which features a 50/50 print, travel experiences, and artwork by local and international artists.
Managing Director Jeff Erbach says he is proud of the gallery’s work in the community, including its work in educating young people about the art world.
“We provide arts education to thousands of people in our community, mostly children… we do it through art camps, workshops and school tours,” he says.
“Thousands of children participate in these activities and they are all free. All the proceeds from our fundraising go to support childhood development through art, ”he says.
Erbach is excited about the auction, because more than art is up for grabs this year. Erbach says people can participate in these “guilt-free” auctions because they will support a great cause and allow the gallery to continue educating people with free admission and free programs.
“We are a really important cultural asset in the Peace region, a major art museum and one of the largest art museums in the province. Admission is also free and many art museums require you to pay before participating in their exhibitions, ”he says.
“We are one of the largest free entry art galleries in Western Canada.
The auction will be held online from November 1 to November 6 at 7 p.m. Anyone interested can visit this link.
