Local photographers wanted for Sweetwater photo exhibition

Local photographers can participate in the Sweetwater Photo Open which will be held at the White Mountain Library in Rock Springs in December and January. Open to all subjects such as people, animals and landscapes such as “Firehole Morning” by Debora Soule.

ROCK SPRINGS – Local photographers have the opportunity to exhibit their creative work at the White Mountain Library in Rock Springs.

The Sweetwater Photography Open is an annual event in the Sweetwater County Library System and is scheduled for December and January.

The exhibition will open on December 1 and will be on view until January 29. The registration deadline is November 29 at 5 p.m.

The two-page registration form is available at county library lending desks and at the Center communautaire des beaux-arts (CFAC). The application is also available on the CFAC website website. Participants are asked to drop off their tickets at the White Mountain Library and the exhibit is open to artists from Sweetwater County who have not completed high school.

The Library System Exhibitions Committee has developed guidelines for exhibits presented at county libraries, which are included in the application forms. Photographs must be framed, ready to hang with wire or sawtooth hangers, and identified on the back with labels which are included in the request.

The committee meets throughout the year to review applications and schedule exhibitions. Artists interested in exhibiting their work are encouraged to submit a request for a solo exhibition. Applications are available at any county library loan office and at CFAC.
