Tryon Fine Arts Center (TFAC) invites you to mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 17e attend a wine and cheese reception from 5:30 p.m. in the new Parker gallery at TFAC. The open house event will feature the current exhibition TFAC photo competition: from spring to summer 2020, as well as new registrations for the 2021 competition, Approaching autumn.
In early October, the TFAC Exhibitions Committee invited clients to submit up to five (5) separate images relating to the fall season. Ms. Monica Stevenson, esteemed professional photography professional and local resident of Foothills, served as a skilled and enthusiastic judge, picking first, second and third place. The submissions were exceptional, which made his task very difficult.
To this, Monica adds: “I was very impressed with the quality and breadth of creativity of the competition entries. Photography is such a democratic art – today, if you have your phone with you, we are ALL photographers. TFAC is committed to exposing our art lovers to avenues that refine the photography profession, teach the language, and expand our exposure to all types of professional photographers and image makers.
With efforts like these, TFAC continues to celebrate the talented and creative community of the Foothills. Executive Director Marianne Carruth invites the public to “come and be a part of this unique celebration honoring the photographic talents of friends and neighbors”.
Tryon Fine Arts Center is a non-profit organization that operates and programs a visual arts gallery, as well as a 315-seat performance hall and 150-seat amphitheater for music, theater, dance, and lectures. on Melrose Avenue in Tryon, North Carolina.
