With over 300,000 estimated Jamaicans living in South Florida and many other residents with a connection to the island, the collection of vivid canvas images will connect with photography enthusiasts, travel enthusiasts, expats and aficionados of Jamaican culture.

The photographic art exhibit was an introduction to the upcoming release of the new book Pieces of Jamaica®: Jamrock Edition. Crowds celebrated the long-awaited second edition of the original book which was published in 2012 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the island’s independence. Muir shared his most memorable moments working on the development of the book and the stories behind some of the captivating photos.

“Every photo tells a story,” says Muir. “And those may not be the obvious meanings that many images of the island evoke. I have a special connection to the travel, the memories, the culture and the history behind every tradition that each image serves. It’s one of the most rewarding experiences to see the final product, I just hope you have as much fun watching it and reading it as I had shooting it, editing it and producing the end product,” he said.
