Photo exhibition shines light on Princess Diana’s life in never-before-seen footage


For fans of the late Diana, Princess of Wales, the coming weeks offer a plethora of never-before-seen images courtesy of the British Royal Family’s longest-serving official photographer and his two sons.

Diana, arguably “the most photographed human in history”, was first filmed by royal photographer Anwar Hussein and later her sons Samir and Zak as they joined the family business, according to a description of an upcoming exhibition of their work focusing on the princess and her untold stories.

Tickets for a new exhibition, Princess Diana Exhibition: Accredited Access, which will open early next year, will go on sale at noon on Wednesday at an as-yet-unknown location, organizers said on Tuesday.

The exhibition will take place in New York in January.

The three photographers will share collections of their original images never before revealed to the public, more than four decades spent working side by side with the princess and her family in public and private moments.

“This exhibit will be told from their perspective: what they heard, what they saw, what they witnessed firsthand will all be shared,” said the organizers, SBX Group and Fever, in a statement. declaration. “It’s not a story you’ve heard before. Whether you are a diehard fan or new to its heritage, you will be blown away by the fascinating depth and detail shared by the Hussein family.

Eight “bespoke themes” will take viewers to “the most iconic moments” in Diana’s short life, from intimate family photographs to “larger-than-life images, murals and bespoke art,” promise them. organizers. Dark Room, Growing, Glam, Hats & Tiaras, Art Installations, Working Royals, Humanitarian and Unguarded photography will be narrated by Hussein, and multimedia artist Pauline Loctin will provide art installations inspired by moments from the princess’s life.

“Often times, these stories can be even more intriguing than the photo itself,” Hussein said. Variety. “This exhibition allows my sons and I to present to you an extraordinary look at one of the most famous and influential women of all time. We strongly believe that the stories behind the photos will transport each guest back in time and immerse them in the story of Princess Diana like never before.

The Princess of Wales died in August 1997 at the age of 36 in a car accident while fleeing paparazzi in a Paris tunnel. Boyfriend Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul also died, while bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones survived.
