Santo is a painter painter. At 99, he is the respected patriarch of the artistic community here and elsewhere. He has been an exhibiting member of the Guild of Creative Art for 50 years where his work will be exhibited during the month of November. We will celebrate its 100e birthday in June 2022!

Santo’s work is powerful, using brilliant colors, strong compositions and an energetic brush. He said: “I paint what moves me. I am delighted to find the simple shapes in a composition and to show them off. Then all the other elements fall into place. Once I start a painting, it flows with a life of its own. I never seek photographic realism, but rather respect the nature of the medium within the limits of design, color and texture ”. Santo’s curiosity led him to explore a large number of techniques and styles without sacrificing the quality of the work. Whatever the different directions, his fresh compositions have stood the test of time.

Born in the foothills of the Italian Alps, Santo arrived in this country at the age of 5. His talent won him scholarships to study art in New York. He went on to have a successful career as vice president and creative director of advertising on Madison Avenue, while still working and exhibiting his own artwork. It has been featured in countless shows, both local and national, and has won many distinguished awards. His work has been published in numerous art journals.

Guild hours are Tuesday to Friday 11:30 am to 4:30 pm and Saturday 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please call before visiting in case of bad weather! (732-741-1441). Please visit to view all of our wonderful 2020 and 2021 art gallery online exhibits.
