Submissions sought for the Elsah photo exhibition


ELSAH – Submissions will be accepted for the Village of Elsah Museum’s annual photo exhibit from April 2 to August 7, 2022.

The theme is “Postcard from Elsah” and the exhibition will take place in the museum building, Elsah Village Hall, at 26, rue LaSalle. An opening reception is scheduled for Saturday April 2, 2022, during which the winners are announced.

Photographers – amateurs and professionals alike – are invited to submit bids for the exhibition and participate in the purchase price portion of the exhibition. As in previous years, the photographs will be for sale and the photographers will retain all of the profits.


There will be a purchase price winner, the village purchase price of Elsah, for a picture taken in the valley or in the vicinity of the village of Elsah. The purchase price amount is $ 200. The winner of the purchase price will also receive an overnight stay at the Green Tree Inn in Elsah.

The exhibition added a youth award for photographers aged 10 and 18. This award aims to provide an opportunity for young photographers to share and learn how their work compares to that of their peers. A monetary prize of $ 100 is offered to the winner of the youth section prize.

The works submitted for the prizes will be judged on the following criteria:

• Expression of the purpose of the exhibition to foster an appreciation of Elsah and be recognizable as the area of ​​Elsah,

• Expression of the theme, in a broad interpretation, “Elsah Postcard”,

• Quality of the photographic composition, and

• Quality of reproduction including any use of photographic tools.

The 2022 Purchase Price photograph will be featured on the invitation to next year’s Elsah Village Photography, both print and digital, and in the advertisement for the current year’s exhibitions and next year.
