Tyree to Host Senior Art Exhibit at Glenville State College

GLENVILLE, W.Va. – Senior Camryn Tyree of Glenville State College in Point Pleasant, WV invites the public to attend her Senior Art Exhibit Opening Reception on Friday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on display in the Spears Gallery of the College’s Center for Fine Arts.

Tyree’s art exhibit will include various mediums of work such as colored pencil, watercolor, photography and dry pastel. “I’ve enjoyed working with all kinds of mediums throughout my college career, so I wanted to incorporate as many as possible,” Tyree said.

“There is no overarching theme, but I have a specific series that holds its own theme by showcasing the beautiful and dynamic landscapes of West Virginia. I chose this because while being at Glenville State College, I used most of my free time hiking and enjoying the outdoors. I would hike again and again, looking for the most beautiful spots. I wanted to recreate those areas as well as incorporate other elements of nature through soft pastels in hopes of recreating the feelings these places inspire,” she explained.

“I’d like to thank my parents, Charlie and Mindy, for helping me get to college and encouraging me to major in a field I’m passionate about. I would also like to thank my sister, Sophie, for being my photography model even when she really doesn’t want to. I would finally like to thank my boyfriend, Jacob, because he supports me and always believes in me,” Tyree added.

The Gallery of the Center des Beaux-Arts is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and one hour before all CGC musical performances at the Center des Beaux-Arts.
